Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin was appointed as a Director of Sime Darby Property Berhad ("Sime Darby Property") on 12 July 2017. He was subsequently appointed as the Group Managing Director on 24 August 2017.
He began his career in 1989 in the financial services industry with BBMB Discount House Berhad as a money market dealer before joining Development and Commercial Bank Berhad in 1990 as an officer handling corporate and commercial loans transactions. He later joined Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad in 1990 and served the financial institution in the position of Manager of the Structured and Project Finance Division before leaving the organisation in 1996.
Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin joined Renong Berhad as Senior General Manager in 1996 and subsequently left to join Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad ("MRCB") as Head of Corporate Finance in 1999 where he served the company in this position until 2000. In 2001, he was appointed as Chief Operation Officer of Putra Capital Berhad. Thereafter, he joined Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (TV3) ("STMB") in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") where he was responsible for the restructuring and turnaround of STMB and The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad. Following the successful restructuring of the former media assets of MRCB, Media Prima Berhad was established in year 2003 and he was appointed as its Group CFO. He played a pivotal role in transforming the Media Prima Group into an integrated media group. He assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of Natseven TV Sdn Bhd (ntv7) in 2006 and then as the CEO of STMB in 2008. In 2009, he was appointed as the Group Managing Director of Media Prima Berhad. He left Media Prima Berhad in 2017 before joining Sime Darby Property.
Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin also sits on the board of Taliworks Corporation Berhad and CIMB Bank Berhad.

The Board of Directors of Sime Darby Property had, on 4 April 2019, accepted the early cessation of Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin's contract as Group Managing Director, which will take effect on 3 May 2019. Upon cessation of contract, Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin will also cease as a member of the Board Tender Committee of Sime Darby Property. The Board extends its heartfelt appreciation to Dato' Sri Amrin Awaluddin for his invaluable contribution and services to Sime Darby Property Group. The Board has also approved that in the interim, Dato' Wan Hashimi Albakri bin Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri, the Chief Operating Officer - Township Development shall assume the role of Acting Group Chief Executive Officer effective 3 May 2019 until the appointment of a new Group Managing Director.
