After graduating in year 1976, Datuk Poh started his career in property consultancy in Kuala Lumpur before moving on to play key roles in various property development companies. After 40 years in the Malaysian property development business, Datuk Poh currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Amphil Corporation Sdn Bhd.

At Amphil, Datuk Poh plays the hands-on developer of Rimbun @ Embassy Row, a luxury and boutique green condominium project in the prestigious Embassy enclave of Kuala Lumpur. He is also currently the Director of Malaysian Green Technology Corporation ("MGTC"), an organisation that is set up by the Malaysian Government to formulate, promote and implement Malaysia's Green Agenda, and to reduce Malaysia's carbon footprint by 40% by the year 2020.

Datuk Poh was invited to voluntarily serve as a Director in year 2013, to lend his business and corporate experience and his Green Vision to MGTC, as well as assisting MGTC to move forward and upward to the next level. Datuk Poh was called out of retirement and appointed as Advisor and Board member of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad in year 2007.

Datuk Poh was previously with Dijaya Corporation Berhad (presently known as Tropicana Corporation Berhad) where he served as the Group Managing Director, and retired in year 2007. During Datuk Poh's time at Dijaya Corporation Berhad, Datuk Poh pioneered the development of two (2) golf resorts spanning across more than 1,000 acres (400 hectares) in Malaysia with various residential and commercial components. These two (2) golf resorts, located in Petaling Jaya, are now homes to residents from more than 20 countries.

Datuk Poh has been a member of Real Estate & Housing Developers' Association ("REHDA") Malaysia for the last 30 years and has served in various committees at both, the state and national levels.
